This ring is very easy, without steep sections. But at the same time fascinating for the variety of panoramas, for the passages in the woods, for the possible visit to a very interesting country cemetery.
We start from Ospedaletto, where a small coffee bar can be useful both on departure and on arrival. We continue along the state road towards Orvieto, until the crossroads for Spante. We finally leave the asphalt road to take this beautiful gravel road in the woods, following which we reach Spante, a small village where the Faina Counts had one of their residences, still present.
We continue straight on leaving Spante on our right up to a small bridge, after which we take a barely visible road to the right (towards the North) which, at times, becomes a narrow path; we are traveling on an ancient road which, until 100 years ago, saw the presence of people, horses, mules and carts. We can note the presence of dry stone walls, an unequivocal sign of the importance now forgotten. We will thus reach the cemetery of Palazzo Bovarino, which is worth a visit (close the gate at the exit). After passing this place, we will definitely turn right following the road that will shortly take to Palazzo Bovarino. Fascinating place, surrounded by greenery, which in a recent past (until 60/70 years ago) was flourishing and rich in inhabitants; it was an important crossroads, since six roads converge here. Even at Palazzo Bovarino we will definitely bend to the right, following the gravel road that will take us back to Ospedaletto.
