Reaching this ancient fortified human settlement, now forgotten and abandoned is always fascinating.
From the highway from San Venanzo to Orvieto you reach the crossroad that leads to San Vito, Pornello, Montegiove. You can leave on foot by parking right next to the restaurant.
On the right of the restaurant there is a downhill road, which ends about 100 meters later on the asphalt road; continue to the left, taking a dirt road, always downhill. Continue leaving the farmhouse Podere Santa Maria on the right and then reach Podere Campogrande, cross the area of the building and continue (a gate for animals closes the road, it must be opened and closed again). Still following the main road you reach the Costa Bolletta ridge and, always slightly downhill towards the East, you walk until you find a relief in front of you; inside of it, climbing a few tens of meters into the bush, there are the ruins of Castelvecchio.
