As it often occurs, the ancient road that connected these two centres was much more direct and shorter than the one currently used.
Proceed from Palazzo Bovarino downhill towards south-east following the gravel road until you meet, on your left, the walls of the cemetery. Reach the entrance of the cemetery (a very interesting place to visit) and skirt the walls externally. At the east corner you will find a wide and abandoned road that goes straight south, with a dry stone wall on the left that has obviously experienced better times. Keep following it for about 1 km until it flows onto a gravel road. Turn left and, after a few hundred meters of ascent, you will find on your left the ancient village of Spante, one of the most beloved residences of the Counts Faina.
